MOSCOW, June 17 Deputy head of the LDPR faction in the State Duma Stanislav Naumov proposed to lift restrictions on playing in Russian clubs for football players of foreign national teams who have passed the group stage of the 2024 European Championship, the LDPR press service reported.
“»I propose to lift restrictions on the playing in Russian football clubs of any players of national teams who have passed the group stage of the European Championship. If Russian clubs enter into such contracts, then new players of Russian clubs will be exempt from personal income tax, and the clubs themselves will be exempt from income tax on a contract with player,» Naumov said, as quoted by the press service.
In his opinion, this practice will encourage highly qualified football players to move to Russian clubs and bring Russian football to a higher quality level.
