MOSCOW, June 21 Police officers detained a resident of the Moscow region who injured a dog and threatened visitors to a shopping center; four knives, six pepper sprays and a pneumatic gun with metal bullets were confiscated from the suspect, The press service of the Moscow Region Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told reporters.
“Officers of the criminal investigation department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city district of Khimki detained a 37-year-old local resident suspected of cruelty to animals and threatening to kill,” the report says.
< br />The attacker, while in a store located on Academician Grushin Street, injured a dog and also threatened visitors and employees of the shopping center with an object similar to a knife. The animal was taken to a veterinary clinic to provide the necessary care.

“The suspect in the crime was identified by the police and detained at his place of residence. He explained that while in the store premises, he felt a threat to his life from a dog lying on the floor and deliberately stabbed it with a knife,” the report adds.

Four knives, six aerosol pepper sprays, mobile phones and an air pistol with metal bullets were found and seized from the suspect.
A criminal case has been initiated against the offender on the grounds of a crime under Article 245 (cruelty to animals) and 119 (threat of murder or infliction of grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
