Media: three people were detained at an anti-government protest in Tel Aviv

MOSCOW, June 23 Police detained three people at an anti-government protest in Tel Aviv on Saturday, the Times of Israel newspaper reported, citing police.
The correspondent previously reported that thousands of activists gathered in the center of Tel Aviv on Saturday evening demanding early elections and an immediate deal for the release of Israeli hostages who have been held in the Gaza Strip for 260 days.

“Police took away several participants of the anti-government rally and detained three after a temporary road closure … in Tel Aviv,” the publication said.

According to the publication, after the completion of the coordinated protest action, some demonstrators blocked road traffic, burned car tires and created a “threat” for passers-by.
The demonstrations are taking place against the backdrop of a lack of progress in negotiations on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in exchange for the release of hostages, which resumed after US President Joe Biden announced a new plan to end hostilities at the end of May.
According to Israeli official data, 120 hostages are still being held in the Palestinian enclave, of which 39 are considered dead. During various operations and humanitarian efforts, 135 hostages were freed from Hamas captivity, this figure includes the dead hostages whose bodies were removed from the enclave.
