MINSK, June 25 The importance of coordination of foreign policy between Moscow and Minsk Allied relations between the two states will grow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said following a meeting with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
The head of Russian diplomacy noted that he had a long conversation with the Belarusian leader, it was devoted primarily to interaction on foreign policy issues.
«Of course, the foreign policy component of our alliance is growing and will have more and more practical importance, aiming our activities in the international arena to promote the most effective integration union building,» Lavrov noted.
He added that he reported to Lukashenko on how the current program of joint actions in the foreign policy direction, which covers from 2024 to 2026 inclusive, is being implemented. “Of particular importance at the current stage of development of union construction, the construction of the Union State, is the concentration of the bulk of our efforts in the international arena for foreign policy support, foreign policy support for integration processes that are gaining strength and are being specified within the Union State. 28 union programs, 31 areas of priority areas , which now number in the hundreds in total,” the minister explained.
