In everyday life, each of us periodically needs to turn to taxi services. Millions of trips are made in Russia every day, and for us passengers, most of them go unnoticed: we arrive at our destination and forget about the trip. Nevertheless, the image of the taxi driver profession in society is often associated with incompetence, conflicts over tariffs, refusals of transportation and other problems.

What standards and requirements must a taxi driver meet?
To answer this question, since 2018, the annual All-Russian competition of professional skills “The Best Taxi Driver in Russia” has been held in Russia. Here they don’t just check which of the candidates knows transport legislation by heart — they evaluate the depth of understanding of the country’s history, skill in driving a vehicle, and readiness to provide assistance in an emergency. Participants present bright creative performances that embody the spirit and beauty of their native regions. For the sixth year in a row, the competition has gathered the energy and talent of thousands of taxi drivers from different parts of the country.
In 2023, the final became unique — for the second time, a representative of the fair sex from Tatarstan won the honorary title Luiza Badreeva.
Next month, the winners of the regional stages of the competition from 32 regions will once again compete for the title of Best Taxi Driver in Russia. The final will take place from July 9 to 10 in Kazan. Representatives of federal and regional authorities and departments, the largest taxi ordering services and experts, top industry bloggers and, of course, relatives and friends of the participants will come to support the event. In addition to the competition part, there will be an interregional round table meeting, where authorities and business will discuss the development of transport transportation in the regions and personnel shortages in the industry.
