The new SUV, intended for the markets of Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region, received completely “green” technology. In Korea, it will be sold under the name Casper Electric.
The compact Hyundai Casper SUV debuted in the fall of 2021; it took the place of an entry-level SUV in the brand’s lineup. The model's name is not a reference to the familiar «friendly ghost»; in fact, the car was named after a trick performed by skateboarders. Since its introduction, Casper has been presented only on the domestic market and only with a gasoline engine (it shares a platform with the Kia Picanto). Now the situation will change: the Korean brand has presented a global “brother” with a different name and an alternative “filling”.

As we reported earlier, the completely “green” new product will be released on the domestic market under the name Hyundai Casper Electric, and the global version is named Inster. Note that the global name is derived from the words intimate and innovative, which translates from English as “close, familiar” and “innovative”. The Koreans showed the first teasers in the first half of this month, and now they have completely declassified the small crossover.

The Hyundai Inster and Casper Electric presented today differ from the already familiar Casper due to differently designed bumpers, a different light pattern for the headlights and taillights, as well as 15- and 17-inch wheels with an original “pixel” design. In addition, the place of the traditional radiator grille is occupied by a black plug.
An important difference was the change in the dimensions of the model. Thus, the length of the Korean electric Casper and the global Inster is 3825 mm (230 mm more compared to the gasoline Casper), width — 1610 mm (15 mm more), height — 1575 mm (remains the same), and the distance between the axles is 2580 (180 mm more). As a result, the legroom for second-row passengers has increased, in addition, the length of the trunk has increased, which has increased the cargo space: the volume is now 280 liters (47 liters more), and with the rear seats folded down — 351 liters.

The interior of the SUV also has a number of differences from the gasoline donor of the 2021 model, including other color options for the fabric upholstery. On the front panel there is a pair of 10.25-inch displays: one of them acts as a virtual instrument panel, the second as a touchscreen for the infotainment system (the “just” Casper has 8 inches). Depending on the configuration, the model may have a wireless charging function for smartphones, LED backlighting, heated front seats, a sunroof and a set of ADAS systems.

The range on one charge for this variant is 300 km. The Long Range version also has one electric motor, its power is 115 hp. (147 Nm), and the battery capacity is 49 kWh. Its range without recharging is 355 km.
