MOSCOW, July 2 Industrial production in the Moscow region has increased by 15.5% since the beginning of this year compared to the same period last year, reports the press service of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region.
“The Moscow region industry continues to maintain an upward trend of development. Based on the results of the first five months of 2024, it again records growth — 15.5%,” said Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region Ekaterina Zinovieva, her words are quoted by the press service . 
She added, that in the manufacturing sector the growth is even more significant — it amounted to 16.7%.
High growth rates are observed in the production of computers, electronic and optical products, where the figure increased by 10.7%, the production of electrical equipment increased by 24%. The production of machinery and equipment not included in other groups increased by 21%, the production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers increased by 26.5%.
In addition, the production of railway locomotives and rolling stock increased significantly: the figure increased by 26% against the background of an increase in the production of other vehicles and equipment (plus 16.2%).
Also, the production of leather and leather products increased by 57.7%, the production of clothing and footwear increased by 17.5% and 81.2%, respectively, and the production of textile products increased by 21%.
