The special version of the two-door received its name, as well as the body color, in honor of the Italian wine of the same name.
Maserati brand part of the auto giant Stellantis. The GranTurismo coupe entered the market in various versions last year, the petrol GranCabrio Trofeo convertible debuted in February this year, and the all-electric version with the addition of Folgore to the name was presented in April. Now the Italians have developed a special version based on the latter.

The Maserati GranCabrio Folgore Tignanello convertible is presented in a single copy. It will be auctioned off late next week, July 14, as part of the Napa Valley Festival's Arts for All event in California. The company said that all proceeds from the sale of the special version will be donated to charity.
The special version of the convertible got its name — Tignanello — in honor of the red Italian wine created in 1971 (one of the first red Chianti Classico wines, which did not use white grapes). It is produced by Marchesi Antinori, which has now launched the 2021 vintage and celebrated 50 years since the first blend.
In addition to the “telling” name, the special two-door Maserati GranCabrio Folgore received a new color for the body color — we are talking about a copper-burgundy color, which was given the name Terradi Tignanello. The exterior is complemented by black alloy wheels and calipers, a similarly colored soft top and copper branding.
The four-seater interior of this convertible is trimmed with Vegea eco-leather, the raw material for which includes grape pomace. In addition, the door panels and the center console have dark wood inserts with inscriptions that resemble the seal on oak barrels. This GranCabrio Folgore also received an emblem in the form of a trident, embroidered on the headrests, inscribed in a schematic sun (a distinctive feature of the design of Tignanello wine).
The «filling» of the special version, of course, is standard. The convertible is equipped with a three-motor installation (each with a capacity of 408 hp), with one engine installed on the front axle, the remaining two on the rear. The total output is 761 hp, in MaxBoost mode the figure briefly increases to 829 hp; maximum torque is 1350 Nm. The two-door car needs 2.8 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h, and 9.1 seconds to 200 km/h. The maximum speed is 290 km/h.
The all-electric convertible system also includes a traction battery with a capacity of 92.5 kWh (useful capacity — 83 kWh). The maximum range on one charge is 447 km when calculated according to the WLTP cycle.
