ASTANA, July 3 Belarus' accession to the SCO corresponds to the interests of Minsk, this will be a great acquisition for the organization, said press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
“We welcome Belarus’s entry into the SCO, this is our very important ally, and joining the SCO is in the interests of Belarus. And of course, it will be a great acquisition for the SCO,» Peskov told reporters.
It was previously reported that at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO in Astana on Thursday, it is planned to officially assign Belarus the status of a full member of the association.
