Politico: a politician running in France was attacked
A representative of the French government and a member of President Emmanuel Macron's Renaissance party Prisca Thévenot and her team were attacked by several people while putting up election posters in their constituency in Hauts-de-Seine, western Paris.
Thevenot herself was not injured, but one of her members was team was taken to the hospital with a broken jaw. Following the incident, several people were arrested. French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal condemned the attack and called for an end to political violence.
