The four-door Dodge will grow noticeably larger, become more powerful and acquire modern security systems. But the model will lose its state employee status.
The current generation Dodge Attitude sedan is a clone of the pre-reform Mitsubishi Mirage/Attrage. The American brand model is sold exclusively in Mexico. And recently a new generation Dodge four-door was caught there. Local residents posted the photos on their social networks, after which these pictures were snapped up by Mexican specialized media: among them, for example, the publication Autocosmos. So it turned out that along with the generation, Dodge Attitude will change both its donor and market positioning.

In the spotted car, the “Chinese” GAC Trumpchi Empow, which has been produced since 2021, is easily recognizable. The decision of the Stellantis concern (it owns the Dodge brand) to attract a Chinese company as a partner looks quite logical. The fact is that in the current Mexican range of Dodge there is already a GAC clone: the Journey crossover, which debuted almost three years ago, is a slightly redesigned GAC Trumpchi GS5.

Judging by the spy footage, the basis for the new Dodge Attitude was the current global Empow with a sports body kit (in China, the original sedan recently underwent a restyling). The only significant difference from the donor is the radiator grille. The Dodge four-door has a mesh design, while the similar Empow has vertical wedges. Well, there’s also a large black spoiler on the trunk lid of the captured four-door, but this is probably an option.
If the previous Dodge Attitude belongs to the compact segment (length — 4245 mm, wheelbase — 2550 mm), then the next generation sedan is already a classmate of the Hyundai Elantra and Volkswagen Jetta. The length of the Chinese source, intended for the global market, is 4700 mm, the distance between the axles is 2736 mm.
Global GAC Empow < p>The paparazzi did not look into the salon, but inside the new product probably repeated the “Chinese”, that is, customers will be offered cars with a single display. The list of equipment will probably also include modern assistants: adaptive cruise control, auto braking, lane keeping and traffic sign recognition systems. The outgoing Attitude is not entitled to all this goodness.
The new Dodge sedan will also most likely share technology with the GAC model. The global Empow is equipped with a 1.5 petrol turbo-four with a power of 170 hp, which is paired with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. Under the hood of the old Dodge Attitude there is a three-cylinder naturally aspirated 1.2 (76 hp), it is combined with a five-speed manual or CVT.

The new four-door can make a full presentation in Mexico in August – September. Prices will, of course, rise. The old Dodge Attitude now costs from 275,400 pesos, which is equivalent to approximately 1.3 million rubles at the current exchange rate.
