At the beginning of this week, the Czech company distributed fresh teasers of the upcoming new product, thanks to which we have the opportunity to get our own idea of the appearance of the crossover .
The first information about the addition to the Skoda model range appeared in the spring of last year, when, among others, a compact crossover with a new name Elroq was announced. A few days ago, photographs of camouflaged prototypes were published, which allow us to see the main features of the SUV’s appearance. By the way. The company itself considers the new product an alternative to the Karoq crossover, popular in Europe.

The most interesting thing is the front part of the car, which is not yet similar to any other Skoda model. Here, the “two-story” front optics are made in the latest fashion: along the edge of the hood there are four lines of LED running lights on each side, and the main headlight units are built into the bumper. There are some kind of “notches” made between the upper segments, which will also be highlighted. The brand logo on the hood is now made in the form of letters, rather than a round emblem, as on all other Skodas. From the side, the crossover resembles other models of the brand, and with some details (hood connector with a decorative insert, mirrors, rounded stampings above the wheel arches) it is most similar to another electric model of the company — the larger Enyaq crossover. The rear is also without any special revelations; there are traditional Skoda lights with a license plate niche located between them, and the only interesting thing is the characteristic stampings of the bumper and trunk lid.

The new crossover will be built on Volkswagen's MEB platform, which is already used by the aforementioned Enyaq. The car is announced in four modifications, the basic Elroq 50 is equipped with a 170-horsepower electric motor on the rear axle and a battery with a capacity of 55 kWh. The Skoda Elroq 60 offers a 204-horsepower engine and a 63 kWh battery, the Elroq 85 has a 285-hp electric motor. on the rear axle with a battery with a capacity of 82 kWh. Finally, the top version of the Elroq 85x will have dual-motor all-wheel drive, with a total output of 299 hp. As for the dimensions, the length is expected to be within 4.5 meters, the wheelbase is about 2.77 meters.
