TEHRAN, July 6. Iranian citizens, thanks to the completion of the process of unification of the Russian and Iranian banking payment systems Mir and SHETAB, will be able to receive rubles from Russian ATMs using their bank cards, the head of the Central Bank of Iran, Mohammad Farzin, told Tasnim.
«Bank cards of the Iranian (payment — ed.) SHETAB system as part of the Kahroba mobile banking smart card project can be used in all ATMs in Russia. Citizens of Iran will be able, using their bank cards, to receive rubles from Russian ATMs,» — quotes Farzin's words.
The head of the Central Bank of Iran clarified that the project of unifying the payment systems of the two countries also involves the second stage, related to the use of banking services by Russian citizens in Iran, and the third, the implementation of which involves the acceptance of SHETAB system cards in Russian retail outlets.
