An 18-year-old student was detained in Komi, suspected of writing inscriptions on photographs of participants in the invasion of Ukraine

In Ukhta, police detained an 18-year-old student on suspicion of damaging posters with photographs of participants in the invasion of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Komi.

According to the security forces, at night the young man wrote with a marker “extraneous inscriptions” on posters depicting military men who were having fun in the central park of Ukhta.

The name of the detainee is not specified. In a video published by the Komi police press service, the young man says that he “extremely regrets the act he committed.” He explained to the security forces that he was drunk at the time the posters were damaged. A criminal case was opened against the young man for vandalism based on political hatred (Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code). As a preventive measure, he was given a ban on certain actions.
