Orban asked Erdogan to support his peace initiative for Ukraine

BUDAPEST, July 10 Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said he had asked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to support his peace initiative and join efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
«I asked Mr. President to support us in our peace mission. The positions of the warring parties are still far apart. But if the 'friends of peace' unite, we can take the next step towards peace with joint efforts,» Orban said in a video message published on Facebook* following talks with Erdogan on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington.
The Hungarian Prime Minister also called the Turkish President the only state leader who has successful experience of mediating the conflict in Ukraine when concluding the «grain deal».

Orban arrived in Moscow with a delegation on July 5 and met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He called the visit to Moscow the next stage of a peace mission, the first stage of which was a trip to Kiev on July 2. The Hungarian Prime Minister said that he intends to hold several such unexpected meetings soon. On Monday, Orban visited Beijing, where he said that Hungary is against confrontation with China and for cooperation between the EU and China. After China, the Hungarian Prime Minister headed to Washington, where, in addition to the NATO summit, he also promised to continue working on his peace initiative.
