Court dismisses administrative case against priest who planned to hold memorial service for Navalny in St. Petersburg

The Petrogradsky District Court of St. Petersburg dismissed the administrative case against the Bishop of the Apostolic Orthodox Church Grigory Mikhnov-Vaitenko, who planned to hold a memorial service for Alexei Navalny at the Solovetsky Stone. This was reported by the press service of the city courts.

Mikhnov-Voitenko was detained on the morning of February 17 — the day after the murder of the oppositionist. At the police station, a report was drawn up against him regarding participation in an unauthorized mass event (Part 1 of Article 20.2.2 of the Administrative Code). The memorial service for Navalny at the Solovetsky Stone in St. Petersburg was eventually conducted by another priest of the Apostolic Orthodox Church.

According to the press service of the St. Petersburg courts, the administrative case against Mikhnov-Voitenko was terminated due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
