MOSCOW, July 13 The period of preliminary investigation in the case of former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov, accused of bribes amounting to about 1 billion rubles, has been extended until September 23, it follows from the text of the resolution published in the court file.
«The period of preliminary investigation was extended on June 06, 2024 by the head of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for 03 months 00 days, and in total up to 05 months 00 days, that is, until September 23, 2024,» says the text of the resolution on extension of the arrest period.
Ivanov, who oversaw the work of the military-construction complex at the Ministry of Defense, and his fellow businessman Sergei Borodin are accused of receiving bribes on an especially large scale. Lawyer Murad Musaev said that the investigation charges Ivanov with bribes amounting to about 1 billion rubles, but he does not admit guilt.
Fomin, according to investigators, provided Ivanov, businessman Borodin and other persons with property services “in the form of exemption from the obligation to pay for goods, work and services related to the repair/reconstruction of the building.” -0-
