MOSCOW, July 12 Volodymyr Zelensky will likely visit the UK after the NATO summit in Washington, where he will attend a meeting of the European Political Community next week, the Guardian newspaper reported, citing a source.
«Zelensky is expected to travel to the UK next week to address European leaders… who will gather to discuss Ukraine, European security and democracy,» the newspaper wrote.
The newspaper also reported that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer wants to use the meeting to strengthen relations with EU countries. In particular, he is to hold a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as communicate with some other unnamed European leaders.
The main topic of the conference should be Ukraine, the newspaper points out.
The concept of the European Political Community belongs to Macron; its creation was announced in May 2022. The community includes 27 EU member states, the countries of the Western Balkans, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Great Britain, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
According to Macron, Europe needs a structure for developing cooperation in areas such as geopolitics, energy, infrastructure and transport with countries with which such close integration as within the European Union is not possible.
