The Russian army shelled the village of Budy in the Kharkov region, said the head of the regional administration Oleg Sinegubov.
According to the latest data, two people were killed and another 25 were injured. At least nine people are known to be hospitalized. Two are in serious condition, 13 are in moderate condition.
Sinegubov wrote that Russian troops shelled Buda twice, including a “civilian infrastructure facility” that came under fire.
As a result of a repeated strike on the village, Artem Kostyr, the head of the Kharkov regional department of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations (SSES), was killed. The head of Kharkov, Igor Terekhov, spoke about this. Senior police sergeant Alexei Koshchei also died, reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko.
The Ukrzaliznytsia company reported that the Russian army attacked a train and “railway facilities” in the Kharkov region. Sinegubov confirmed that this happened in Budy.
According to preliminary information, five railway employees were injured: the driver, the station manager, the station attendant, the senior trackmaster and the train assembler. Three were hospitalized with concussion and shrapnel wounds, two received medical assistance on the spot. As a result of the shelling, the carriages were damaged and a fire occurred, which was quickly contained, the company added.
