Turkish police detained a Russian wanted by Interpol on a yacht with the flag of Ukraine
A Russian wanted by Interpol was detained by Turkish police on a yacht in Antalya. This was reported by the Anadolu state agency.
It is specified that the detained A.P. 58 years old. He is wanted for bribery. It is reported that he was planning to go through Turkey by sea to another country.
At the time of his arrest, he was on a sailing yacht with the flag of Ukraine. The man was with his son – he was handed over to the Migration Directorate because his residence permit had expired. Two more passengers of the ship – citizens of Azerbaijan and Ukraine – was released.
It is noted that the detainee received Turkish citizenship in 2021, but lost it two years later due to being put on the wanted list.
During a search on the ship, police confiscated seven thousand euros, five thousand dollars, 200 Thai baht, various equipment, Turkish and Russian passports.
