MOSCOW, July 15 Chicken eggs will become cheaper in Russia until September, after which — until the New Year — prices will stabilize, this is the forecast given ACRA corporate ratings group expert Anton Trenin.
He noted that eggs turned out to be the most expensive food product over the past year, prices for which increased by 61 percent during the year.
The reason for this, according to him, was a complex of accumulated problems in the industry, which led to a drop in the profitability of egg production and a decrease in their output, and the high dependence of egg producers on the import of vaccines and feed additives, as well as on the supply of equipment, as well as from components in poultry farms — only aggravated the situation in 2023.

“The elimination of import duties on eggs from friendly countries in the first half of 2024 and measures taken to stimulate increased production led to a reduction in the price of this product by 15 percent by the beginning of this year. “I believe that the weakening of prices may continue until September (by another five percent), after which they are likely to stabilize until the New Year, when demand for chicken eggs traditionally increases, which could lead to a new surge in prices,” Trenin said.
Chicken eggs in Russia have risen in price by more than one and a half times over the past year. In the coming year, their prices began to fall. For example, according to Rosstat, for the week from July 2 to July 8, the decrease in prices for these products amounted to 0.5 percent.
