KRASNODAR, July 15 Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratyev ordered the creation of a fire patrol in each municipality of the region.
“We have learned to quickly detect fires, and now we need to develop a system for quickly localizing them — to cope with the fire at the initial stage, and not in conditions of an expanded fire. Fire patrols should work in each municipality around the clock, the deployment of forces should be moved closer to forests and places rest,” the press service of the regional administration quotes Kondratyev’s words at a regional meeting dedicated to a forest fire near Novorossiysk. 
Kondratiev also ordered hourly reports on the fire situation.
On Sunday, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported a fire in the forest and grass in the area of the Durso farm. The fire spread to the territory of the Blue Wave recreation center; it was later extinguished, but the forest continued to burn and the fire spread over 62 hectares. A state of emergency has been introduced in Novorossiysk. On Sunday evening, the forest fire spread to the recreation centers “Moryak”, “Romantic”, “Frigate”, from where people were evacuated in advance. A criminal case has been initiated under the article “Destruction and damage to forest plantations.” On Monday, the governor announced the containment of the fire.
Later, the operational headquarters was informed about the occurrence of two more forest fires in the Kuban in the Seversky region — on an area of 1.2 and 0.9 hectares.
