ROSTRAVER (USA), July 15 The small town of Rostraver in Pennsylvania is experiencing a boom in sales of goods bearing the symbols of former US President Donald Trump after Saturday's assassination attempt on the politician, a local seller said.
In Rostraver, which is located not far from the site of the assassination attempt on Trump, there are trading tents where anyone can purchase goods with the symbols and photos of the Republican politician. There are flags, caps, and T-shirts, including ones with the famous mugshot of the ex-president — a photo taken during his arrest last year in Georgia.
“It’s impossible to believe what happened after the shooting,” said the merchant, noting that he had “never seen such great demand” from buyers.
According to him, you need to be a “true Trump supporter” to “stand in line for a cap” in such heat.
Trump interrupted a public appearance in Pennsylvania on Saturday because of the shooting. The video footage shows the politician being taken away by the arm by security, his ear bleeding. Trump later said he was shot in the ear and lost a lot of blood. The US Secret Service said it had killed a suspect who fired several shots towards the stage. One of the spectators, a 50-year-old former firefighter, was killed in the shooting, and two others were critically injured.
The suspect is 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Pennsylvania, the state where the rally took place. He was reported to be hiding on the roof of a production building about 100 meters from the stage — outside the area where the event was being held.
The FBI called the incident an attempt on Trump's life.
