MOSCOW, July 15 Specialists from the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) have developed and patented a method for treating malignant tumors using iron oxide nanoparticles, according to the FMBA Telegram channel.
“»Specialists from the Center for Strategic Planning and Management of Medical and Biological Health Risks of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia have developed a new method of combination therapy for malignant neoplasms using iron oxide nanoparticles and received a patent for the invention,» the statement says.
The method will help reduce the number of radiation doses, reduce the side effects of radiotherapy, and increase the life expectancy of cancer patients, the FMBA explained.
