MOSCOW, July 15 After the statistics are closed, the Bank of Russia will continue to calculate the official ruble exchange rate on the over-the-counter market, the rate will remain uniform and market-based, according to the regulator's responses on its official Telegram channel.
The Bank of Russia announced on Monday evening that suspends the publication of daily information on trading volumes of the US dollar, euro and yuan against the ruble, calculated on the basis of over-the-counter trading with settlements «tomorrow».
Many questions appeared in the comments under this message on the official Telegram account of the Bank of Russia about what does this decision mean for the ruble exchange rate.
«The Bank of Russia will continue to calculate the official ruble exchange rate on the over-the-counter market,» the Central Bank responded in the comments.
When asked whether this news meant that there would be two rates tomorrow, the regulator responded negatively: «No. It means exactly what is written. The rate will remain uniform and market-based.»
