TASS: the Superjet that crashed in the Moscow region did not make a mandatory flyby after repair
Initially, passenger The Superjet 100 airliner that crashed in the Moscow region, according to preliminary data, did not undergo the mandatory control flight after factory maintenance. This information was passed on to the TASS agency in aviation circles.
According to the agency’s source, “According to preliminary data, the aircraft did not pass the control flight, which is mandatory after extensive maintenance at the plant.” Data on the flights of this aircraft are also not reflected in the publicly available aircraft register and other open sources. The last known flight of the Superjet 100 was on May 3, 2024.
The checkflight is usually performed by a test crew. According to TASS interlocutors, these pilots have specialized training to identify technical problems, which are then fixed. In case of technical problems, abnormal behavior of the aircraft or malfunctions, they take appropriate notes.
«The crew of a regular flight may not always recognize the problem quickly, unlike the test crew. The former are not always prepared for a variety of situations, in while the latter are specially trained for this,” the agency source explained.
There are a number of reasons for conducting a check flight after maintenance, but in some cases it is carried out in parallel with the ferrying of the aircraft to another airfield.
