MOSCOW, July 17. Irish journalist Chey Bowes published a fragment of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s speech at a meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club in 2016, where he spoke about NATO’s aggression against many countries.
“Vladimir Putin reminds NATO of their track record. The people of the countries that were destroyed by the “Defensive Union” do not need to be reminded, they live with this every day,” he wrote on the social network X.
Before the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin repeatedly called on NATO do not provoke Moscow to defend its interests. He recalled the fate of Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan, as well as the expansion of the alliance to the east. The head of state noted that after these events, the West has no right to talk about “evil Russia”, since it itself provokes it into defensive actions.
Putin emphasized that it is impossible to agree on anything with the North Atlantic Alliance — the block does not comply with agreements.
