MOSCOW, July 18, Svetlana Bonopartova. President of the Wrestling Federation Russia (FSBR) Mikhail Mamiashvili, commenting on the admission of 15 Russian athletes to the Olympic Games in Paris, called the International Olympic Committee (IOC) a political lever.
15 athletes from Russia will take part in the Games competitions in five sports — seven tennis players, three representatives of kayaking and canoeing, three cyclists, one representative of trampoline jumping and one swimmer.
«The IOC has no idea about such human qualities as shame, disgrace, responsibility, obligations. In the current format in which the IOC exists, it is just a political lever and nothing more! It is impossible to apply human traits to them,» — said Mamiashvili.
The Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) allowed Russians to participate in the Games subject to a number of criteria. In Paris they will be able to perform in a neutral status, but their compliance with the necessary criteria will be assessed by a special IOC commission (AINERP), consisting of three people.
