NEW DELHI, July 19 The use of cryptocurrency for trade operations within the BRICS is not currently being discussed, said Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal.
«At the moment there are no proposals in the BRICS to conduct trade using cryptocurrency,» he said at a briefing on Friday.
Previously, a number of experts announced the possibility of the BRICS countries using their own cryptocurrency as a tool for settlements with each other.
Russia assumed the chairmanship of BRICS on January 1 of this year.
