MOSCOW, July 19. The SBU detained the mayor of the city of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky in the Odessa region, Vitaly Grazhdan, reports the Ukrainian TV channel TSN.
“The SBU detained the mayor of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky Vitaly Grazhdan,” says a message published on the TSN Telegram channel.
According to the TV channel, searches are taking place in the City Council building. The reasons for the detention are not specified.
According to the Ukrainian news agency Parliament.ua, searches in the city council building are being carried out by employees of the «K» department of the special service dealing with corruption. As the agency reports, citing sources in the national police of the Odessa region, Citizen, according to the investigation, demanded a bribe for assistance in booking the mobilization of employees of one of the enterprises.
Later, the Ukrainian publication «Strana» published a video of the Citizen, in which he shows signs of beatings on his face and body. Local Telegram channels write with reference to the mayor that he was beaten during his arrest.
