DUBAI, July 21 The Republic of Congo supports the idea the formation of a government of national unity in Libya, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Congo Jean-Claude Gakosso said in an interview.
«This is an idea put forward by the League of Arab States, and we think the same way. We even believe that even after the elections, whoever wins will not be able to govern the country alone. He will be forced to turn to those who did not win the elections, with a call to form a government of national unity,” the politician said.
The Supreme State Council of Libya and the Libyan House of Representatives announced following a meeting in Cairo on Thursday the need to hold presidential and parliamentary elections in the country. According to the statement, the parties also noted the importance of forming a new government and emphasized the need to continue the inter-Libyan national dialogue.
