WASHINGTON, July 22 US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected , will speak with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Laos during the ASEAN ministerial meeting, the State Department said Monday.
«»When he comes to the region, especially to participate in these multilateral events, we expect that he will have the opportunity to interact with Wang Yi, and we will provide more details about this as we get closer to the stop (on his tour of Asia – ed.),” said Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink at a press briefing on Blinken’s trip to the Asia-Pacific region.
Last week, China said it had suspended consultations with the United States on arms control and nonproliferation due to Washington's arms sales to Taiwan. Beijing noted that it is ready to maintain interaction with the United States, but the latter must respect their key interests.
