MOSCOW, July 24 The Federal Antimonopoly Service opened a case against the Yandex Food service and Alfa Bank due to incomplete information about cashback when paying for services.
“»FAS Russia has opened a case against Alfa Bank JSC and Yandex Food LLC. If guilt is established, the organizations face fines,» the agency said in a statement.
According to the service, the companies' actions may mislead consumers and contain signs of violation of the Law “On Advertising”.
It is clarified that the FAS received a complaint about the advertising of these companies, which was distributed on federal television channels. The video contained information about accruing 50 percent cashback when paying for an order in the Yandex service with any bank card. However, information that the maximum cashback amount is 500 rubles was placed in an explanatory footnote, shown for a short period of time in small print, “inaccessible to perception.” Thus, consumers received incomplete information about the significant conditions of the promotion that affect the cost of delivery services.
