MOSCOW, July 23 A medium-strength magnetic storm may occur on Earth on July 24 after a series of solar flares, according to data presented on the website of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) RAS.
With a 30% probability on Wednesday morning (at approximately 6:00 Moscow time) a weak magnetic storm (level G1) will begin on Earth. By 9:00 Moscow time it will strengthen to the average level of G2, and after another three hours it will weaken back to G1. By 15:00 the Earth's magnetosphere will calm down.
As follows from another graph presented on the laboratory’s website, several medium-class (M-level) flares occurred on the Sun the day before. Two more outbreaks, barely reaching the same level, were registered on Tuesday.
