NOVOSIBIRSK, July 24 Personalized scholarships for young scientists working in the field of science and breakthrough technologies, up to by the end of the year will be extended to 12 more areas, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Wednesday at a meeting with young scientists in the Novosibirsk Akademgorodok.
“There are a lot of support measures implemented by the state. Firstly, this is a presidential scholarship for adjuncts and graduate students who conduct research as part of the implementation of the priorities of scientific and technological development of Russia, it is set at 75 thousand rubles. It is monthly and was established at the end of last year year, this was a presidential initiative. By the way, eight personal scholarships have been increased to 15 thousand rubles for students and to 20 thousand rubles for graduate students, because they were only a few hundred rubles each. The procedures for their appointment and payment have been improved… Until the end of the year. .. we will extend the payment of these scholarships to another 12 areas. There will be another twelve such scholarships,” the head of government said.
He also said that a special competition is being held within the framework of the updated mega-grants program to attract promising young researchers.
“For the implementation of this project in each area, 15 million rubles are given annually for two years. It is also possible to extend this subsidy for another two years, if everything is done in accordance with the standards that the ministry has,” the prime minister said.< br />Among the social support measures, he noted official housing and very popular housing certificates.
«Last year, the criteria for this program were expanded. Now they can be applied for by young scientists and scientific-pedagogical workers of scientific organizations and universities, regardless of from departmental affiliation,» Mishustin said.
He noted that over the past six months, about 100 young scientists have applied for certificates and most of the applications have already been approved.
Mishustin visited the scientific and technological center in Novosibirsk on Wednesday Akademgorodok park, and he also talked with young scientists and teachers of Novosibirsk State University (NSU).
