WASHINGTON, July 26 The American company Apple has voluntarily pledged to follow government recommendations on security issues when developing artificial intelligence technology, the White House announced on Friday.
“
“Today the administration (US — ed.) announces that Apple has signed up to voluntary commitments enshrining the responsible development of artificial intelligence technologies,” the White House announced on Friday.
The published report contains a report on the work done by the administration to implement the presidential executive order issued nine months ago on the need to control the risks posed by AI, more responsible and controlled development of these technologies, as well as the need to test their capabilities by independent experts and government agencies. Last year, the White House reported, 15 American companies took on voluntary commitments to responsible AI development, including leading developers such as OpenAI, Amazon, Google, Meta* and Microsoft. The announcement of Apple's acceptance of such commitments was made shortly before the expected launch of its new Apple Intelligence feature in the fall.
The recommendations of the US authorities, which the White House ordered to be developed, concern, first of all, the need to test new AI systems to minimize risks both to national security and to ordinary users. The rules developed by the White House are only advisory in nature and do not have the force of law.
