EKATERINBURG, July 26 A dam burst at the Kialimskoye Reservoir in the Chelyabinsk Region, the press service of the Karabash District Administration announced.

The regional government noted that, according to preliminary data, no one was hurt.
As reported on the website of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, due to heavy rainfall and increased water flow to the Kialimskoye Reservoir, a 100-meter-long dam was washed away.
The dam is 500 meters long and has a capacity of 7.8 million cubic meters.
The embassy in the Urals Federal District announced the preventive evacuation of settlements located downstream of the Kiolim River.
In total, 188 people live in the villages along the water path: in the village of Kiolim — 40, in Mukhametovo — 90, Baidashevo — 36, Karasevo — 22.
Thus, 35 residents have already been evacuated from Kiolim. At the same time, as regional governor Alexey Teksler later reported, the settlement itself was flooded. On Saturday, the head of the region will go to the site of the dam break and hold an operational headquarters.
A state of emergency has been introduced in the Karabash district.
Previously, weather forecasters predicted prolonged heavy, sometimes very heavy downpours, thunderstorms, hail and a sharp rise in water levels in small areas rivers of the region.
