
MOSCOW, July 26 The average maximum rate on deposits at ten Russian banks that attract the largest volume of individual deposits in rubles remained at 16.57% in the second ten days of July, according to the Bank of Russia.
At the end of the first ten days of July, the rate increased by 0.49 percentage points to 16.57%, and renewed the maximum since mid-April 2022, reached in the third ten days of June.
The record high average rate for the entire history of measurements was recorded in the first ten days of March 2022 — 20.51%, and the record low — in the first ten days of October 2020 (4.33%).
The average maximum interest rate on deposits calculated by the Central Bank serves as a benchmark for the Russian market. The Central Bank recommends that banks attract funds from the population at no more than the value of this rate plus 2 percentage points. The list of banks being monitored includes Sberbank, VTB, Gazprombank, Alfa-Bank, Rosselkhozbank, FC Otkritie, Moskredbank, T-Bank, Promsvyazbank and Sovcombank.
