The design of the new product may be demonstrated later this week. If this is indeed the next-generation Nissan Patrol, then the residents of the Middle East will be the first to receive it.
The Middle East division of Nissan shared teasers of the new model. The name of the car has not yet been announced — it is only designated as an «icon». At the same time, a large SUV is clearly hidden under the cover. Well, if you remember that the Middle East is today the main habitat for the Nissan Patrol SUV, then it is logical to assume that the long-awaited all-terrain vehicle of the next generation with the factory index Y63 is being prepared for the debut.

The teasers are accompanied by a date — August 1, although there is an addendum to it «the first part of five». So it is not yet known for sure: either a more detailed video or image will appear in a couple of days, or the model will be shown in full. By the way, in the financial report of Nissan published last week, four future SUVs were revealed. So, it is assumed that two of them are the new generation Patrol SUV and its American version called Armada.

As for the design, the current footage only shows a fragment of the radiator grille with a three-dimensional pattern. But there is already an idea of the technology. Most likely, following the related Infiniti QX80, the new Nissan Patrol switched from a 5.6 V8 to a 3.5 gasoline twin-turbo V6, and the seven-speed automatic was replaced with a 9AT. In the premium brother, addressed to America, this engine produces 456 hp.

Note that in the Middle East, the previous Patrol still has a 4.0 V6 engine (275 hp), plus they sell a «charged» Nismo version with a 5.6 V8, which is boosted from 400 to 428 hp. It is possible that the new generation model will no longer have a choice of engines.
