MOSCOW, July 31A Moscow resident who in 1997 disfigured the face of the «Bitsa maniac» Alexander Pichushkin will stand trial for drunkenly beating his mother to death and then dismembering and burying her body, the press service of the capital's prosecutor's office reports.
According to the department, in August 2023, a 51-year-old Moscow resident was drinking alcohol with his friends in an apartment on Biryulevskaya Street. His 76-year-old mother made a remark to the group, after which her son pushed the pensioner out of the room and hit her several times. Later, recalling the quarrel, he beat his mother to death. In early September, the attacker wrapped the body in linoleum, took it out in a garden cart to a vacant lot, where he cut off the head, dug a hole and buried it. 
«He fully admitted his guilt under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional causing of serious bodily harm resulting in the death of a person through negligence). The criminal case with the indictment approved by the Nagatinsky Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office has been sent to court,» the statement says.
According to the prosecutor's office, the defendant was drinking with his friend Alexander Pichushkin in 1997, they had a fight, he disfigured Pichushkin's face with a knife, and «the scar forever became a special sign of the serial killer.» Then the perpetrator was convicted under articles on causing grievous bodily harm and hooliganism.
The «Bitsevsky maniac» Alexander Pichushkin, who had a total of 49 victims, committed his crimes in the 1990s and 2000s, mainly in the Bitsevsky forest in Moscow. Pichushkin killed people who were obviously helpless with particular cruelty: the elderly or minors, the disabled, and people with mental disorders. In October 2007, the Moscow City Court, based on the jury's guilty verdict, sentenced Pichushkin to life imprisonment in a special regime penal colony. According to the examination, Pichushkin is sane, but he has a schizopathic disorder in the form of an attraction to murder with sadistic components.
