MOSCOW, August 1 Bloggers with less than 10 thousand subscribers can send information about themselves to Roskomnadzor voluntarily, said the head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Alexander Khinshtein.
«We are talking specifically about bloggers whose audience is 10 thousand people on a specific resource, not the total number of subscribers (who must send data about themselves to the RKN — ed.) … But this does not negate the rights of bloggers with a smaller number subscribers also proactively send information for inclusion in the Roskomnadzor register,” he said at a press conference at the Rossiya Segodnya International Multimedia Press Center.
Khinshtein noted that he, as the owner of channels on social networks, will also send information about himself to the RKN.
Previously, the State Duma adopted a law according to which, in the absence of verification of a page or channel on a social network, the number of subscribers of which is more than 10 thousand, entails a ban on placing advertising on such a page. According to the law, 10-thousand bloggers will be required to submit information about themselves to the RKN.
