BI: The US is preventing Europe from abandoning Russian gas by cutting its supplies
The US is disrupting Europe's plan to abandon fuel from Russia by cutting its supplies to Europe, writes Business Insider.
The publication reports that fuel exports from the United States to Europe have decreased, as Americans prefer higher prices in Asia.
Europe, which promised to refuse Russian natural gas after the start of the special operation in Ukraine, is still buying it.
The publication cites data according to which at the end of July Europe imported 1.5 million metric tons of LNG from the United States, while imports from Russia amounted to 1.3 million tons — which is not much less.
Continuous imports of Russian fuel have made it very difficult for the global energy market to completely abandon gas from Russia, the article says.
