MOSCOW, August 1 The position of First Vice-Speaker of the Federation Council is not planned to be abolished due to Andrei Turchak, who has left for the post of Acting Head of the Altai Republic; it will be filled after the single voting day, said Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matviyenko at a press conference following the spring parliamentary session.
«First: we do not plan to reduce the position of first vice-speaker, because this is not just a position, but a whole block of areas of work content issues, for now this block has been redistributed among other deputies. And, naturally, I also have more work… But we did not rush with the appointment right away. As you know, at the beginning of September there will be a single voting day, elections for governors and regional parliaments will be held. And traditionally, after the day of the single vote, we always have a change of some senators,» Matviyenko said.
