MOSCOW, August 1 Finnish farmers fear possible EU sanctions on fertilizers from Russia, Yle reported.
“This will immediately deal a very strong blow to the market, and we, the farmers, will bear it,” journalists quote Finnish grain expert Max Shulman as saying.
As observers pointed out, Finnish agricultural entrepreneurs have already faced high prices due to the introduction of a tax on supplied fertilizers by Russia, and if the European Union decides to impose sanctions on them, the situation with prices for them will significantly worsen.
After the start of the Russian military special operation in Ukraine, Western countries have stepped up sanctions pressure on Moscow. As President Vladimir Putin noted, the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, but sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the United States and its allies is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
Nevertheless, Russia is coping with the pressure, and in the West itself, opinions have been repeatedly expressed that the restrictions are ineffective. But, as Moscow emphasized, the West lacks the courage to admit the failure of its anti-Russian policy.
