MOSCOW, August 3 Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo won the floor exercise at the Olympic Games in Paris.
He received 15,000 points for his performance. Second place went to Israel's Artem Dolgopyat (14,966). Third place went to Britain's Jake Jarman (14,933).
Yulo is 24 years old. He is a two-time world champion. This is the Philippines' second Olympic gold medal in history. Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won first place at the Tokyo Games.
In July 2023, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) announced the admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus to international competitions in a neutral status from January 1, 2024. The admission criteria were made public in November. In March, it became known that the Russian national artistic gymnastics team refused to participate in a neutral status in the qualifying competitions for the Olympic Games in Paris.
