MOSCOW, August 2 Russian mixed martial artist Umar Nurmagomedov called American Sean O'Malley a clown, unworthy of holding the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) title.
Nurmagomedov and American Cory Sandhagen will fight on August 3 as part of the UFC, the winner of which will be able to compete for the bantamweight title with O'Malley.
«We are different, but for me it is a shame that O'Malley is the champion. A man should be different, being a man is about something else, and not being a laughing stock at this age. You should be a father, a good example for the younger generation, and not act like a clown,» Nurmagomedov said on Daniel Cormier's YouTube channel.
«Even Sean Strickland tells him that he looks like a clown. Is life really that tied to money? A man should be strong, be a gentleman, and not dance to music on camera like a clown. And the UFC worries about him and does not give him fighters with good wrestling,» he added.
Umar Nurmagomedov, the cousin of former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, has 17 wins in 17 fights. Sandhagen has 17 wins and four losses.
