Another telephone conversation took place between the defense ministers of the world's two largest nuclear powers. Could the American F-16s, the transfer of which as military aid to Ukraine become an increasingly reality, become its “catalyst”? We asked an expert about this.

The conversation between Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin took place on July 12. According to information released by our security agency, this time the Russian side initiated such a conversation. It is also reported that during the telephone conversation, the issue of preventing security threats and reducing the risk of possible escalation was discussed.
— It is quite possible. The situation is only aggravated by the statement of the US National Security Advisor Sullivan that the States may give Ukraine permission to fire missiles at Russia's «old territory», — emphasized. — Of course, all this causes great concern among our leadership.
Surely, the conversation between Belousov and Austin was very serious. I can assume that in the end the head of the Pentagon was very convincingly explained: all this should not be done under any circumstances. Because in this case we are already talking about open direct intervention in the conflict. In fact, the implementation of these plans turns Ukraine into another US state. I hope that the arguments of our Minister Mr. Austin were at least somewhat convincing.
