The number of applications for family mortgages fell by 22 percent after the restart
RBC, citing the Dom.rf development institute, reported that after the relaunch of the Family Mortgage, Russians have sharply turned away from this state housing loan program.
In particular, in July, the number of applications decreased by 22%. Over the previous month, banks received only 152.6 thousand applications for family mortgages. On average, the flow of applications across the country has decreased by 15.4% compared to July 2023.
According to experts, the mass reluctance of Russians to take out loans under this program is due to a change in the terms of this state program. Currently, families with at least two children can count on a family mortgage with an interest rate of no more than 6%, while one of the children must be under six years old.
