MOSCOW, August 6 Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin expressed condolences over the death of the chairman of the Coordination Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus Ismail Berdiev, calling his death a heavy loss for Muslim community — the ummah.
Berdiev died on Monday evening, the mufti of North Ossetia said.
«The Russian Ummah has suffered a heavy loss — the respected mufti, head of the Coordination Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus, Ismail Haji Berdyev, has left this mortal world. Over the many years of his service, he made a significant contribution to strengthening universal and Islamic values in Russia, sincerely loved his homeland and advocated for the preservation of peace and harmony between the peoples of our country,» the mufti of Tatarstan said on his Telegram channel.
«On behalf of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan and on my own behalf, I express my deep condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. I ask the Almighty to forgive the sins of Ismail Haji, not to deprive him of His mercy and to bless him with heavenly abodes,» he added.
