MAGADAN, August 7 A Magadan court has found a Magadan resident guilty of carelessly setting off fireworks, burning down his house, in which two of his guests died, and the man was sentenced to one year of forced labor, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported on Wednesday. «While drinking alcohol with his friend and cohabitant in a private wooden house on Proletarskaya Street without water supply, the owner of the house decided to fire a pyrotechnic signal of a hunter on the adjacent territory. However, while loading the launcher, he allowed it to be triggered unauthorized, the pyrotechnic element ignited and the fire spread. The man and woman, who were intoxicated, were unable to get out of the burning house and died,» the department reports.
To be confirmed that the court found a resident of Magadan guilty of causing the death by negligence of two people in a fire.
«The court verdict sentenced the convicted <…> to forced labor for a period of one year, with the withholding of part of the salary. Compensation for moral damage was recovered in favor of the relatives of the victims,» adds SUSK of Russia for the Magadan region.
